Farewell
(For Grandma)
This was one of my UnderGrad Fall Senior Pieces; a dance show that was choreographed in memory of Leslie (choreographer) grandmother’s passing. It featured three dancers who were representative of the three generations of women in her family; her grandmother, her mother and her sister. So the design was made to reflect each age of the characters.

Between the Renderings and the final pull a few things ended up changing. We found a dress for 'Grandma' that we really liked the weight and flow of. It was heavier and a bit more into the true blue tones. We liked it's unusual collar and choose to add white buttons down the span of it. For the Mother we went with a darker purple than initially planned; a more mid-weight fabric; and buttons down the front bust. For the Daughter, we changed the dress from light blue, to a softer pink-purple we though fit the tones of the other dresses more, and a thicker strap to better accommodate our dancer. The Understudy's dress (Not Shown), ended up looking exactly like the above image and was hand dyed a lovely Periwinkle.
